Are you ready to make the most of your personal potential? Do you share our passion for caring? Consider a career with Excelcare. It’s an opportunity to make all of life more extraordinary.
At Excelcare, we have a rigorous recruitment process. We conduct face-to-face interviews with all applicants and carry out thorough pre-employment checks. All our staff have to pass an enhanced DBS check prior to joining our team.
Once you join the team at Excelcare, you will open the door to a whole new world of opportunity. And to help you navigate, every employee has a development plan, which gives them the opportunity to map out what they want to achieve, how they want to get there and importantly, what support they need to do it. This guide for your professional future is a long-term work in progress. And to help, your team leader or manager will meet with you regularly to provide inspiration, coaching and feedback.
When you join Excelcare, we will help you feel at ease as quickly as possible. This is why you undergo an intensive induction process to learn about our organisation, your team and understand the skills and knowledge you will need to succeed in your new role. Your first three months will then be the springboard to longer-term training and personal development.
At Excelcare, we firmly believe that a confident workforce leads to higher standards of care. Our Care staff complete ‘Skills for Care’ courses and annual training in: Moving & Handling, Medication, Protection of Adults, Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Infection Control, Fire Safety and Lone Working. Other courses are available to enable staff to meet the needs of all our service users. All our Care staff have either achieved or are working towards level 2 nationally recognised qualifications. Many have achieved Level 3 and Level 4 management diplomas.
We support our nurses to maintain their registration by enabling access to training and clinical supervision appropriate to the specialist needs of the people who use our service. This provides a great career structure for all nurses, including any who have recently qualified. For overseas nurses there are several routes to becoming an Excelcare Nurse. You may wish to combine clinical development in the form of a preceptorship programme and progress your career by becoming an accredited mentor for our Overseas Nursing Programmes. It’s up to you.
Whatever you choose, we always begin with an extensive induction programme, which includes a full range of mandatory and legislative training and ongoing professional development.
