We are an established home care company who have been providing quality care and support for over 17 years. We have a senior care and support worker vacancy. The role is to provide support for our customers and staff at our Extra Care Scheme in the Bedford area.

Day to Day Role of Senior Care and Support Worker

  • To carry out Service User needs assessments
  • To carry out care/support planning and risk assessments
  • To organise and attend Service User reviews
  • Reviewing and updating of needs assessment, care/support plan and risk assessment documents
  • Liaise with Care Manager to ensure the correct Service User and Care worker are matched for new service users
  • Supporting staff with on-the-job training where required
  • To attend training courses as and when required
  • To attend casework meetings with customers and Social Services Support all customers living at the scheme
  • Undertake all administrative work required
  • Spot check staff and ensure high levels of quality care are being provided
  • Liaise closely with the Housing Providers staff

Requirements

  • Enthusiastic about promoting independent living
  • Reliable
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Experience of care provision
  • Ideally have a formal care qualification such as QCF/ NVQ Level 2 or 3
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skills in assessment and care planning
  • The ability to cope with change and ability to cope with pressure
  • An understanding of quality control procedures
  • Good attitude and aptitude
  • Cheerful and considerate
  • Caring
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to undergo training and supervision
