Your new role
As a relief support worker, you will be working with young adults with a range of personal needs, such as mental health and substance misuse. The residents will need encouragement to attend their further education and social skills. As a relief support worker, you will be providing relief if and when needed to cover sickness and annual leave. You may be asked to cover different shift patterns, such as, day shifts, waking nights and sleep ins.
What you'll need to succeed
To be an successful support worker, you will need to have previous experience working with people effected by mental health. You will need to be firm and confident when following rules and procedures put into place by the organisation. Having an caring nature and being passionate about helping people will be essential. As you are working with vulnerable service users a DBS is needed , or the documents to produce a DBS on your behalf is essential.
