The post is included in a major redesign of service that will focus on development of the community mental health teams throughout Argyll and Bute. The post covers the Cowal and Bute sector of Argyll and Bute with access to inpatient beds at the Argyll and Bute Hospital, Lochgilphead, thereby offering continuity of care for inpatient and outpatient management. The post offers an opportunity to work with a small group of committed clinicians who deliver an excellent standard of care throughout the sector. The post is for 10 programmed activities (sessions) per week and the post holder will be welcomed into a friendly and forward thinking team of consultants where peer support is valued and protected. Development of a special interest will be encouraged. Those preferring to work part time may also apply.
The base will be Cowal Community Hospital with regular travel to Rothesay and Helensburgh. On call one in 8 at the Succoth ward - a brand new facility of 21 beds situated within the Mid Argyll Community hospital. Approximately 1 session per week will be learning disability outpatient care in Helensburgh.
Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register with a Licence to Practice or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at time of interview.
